In the first half of 2024, the M&A ecosystem for startups in Brazil demonstrated a dynamic and promising landscape, with the number of acquisitions returning to pre-pandemic levels, totaling 57.
Over the past five years, fintechs have led the transaction volume, representing 21% of the total, followed by healthtechs and edtechs, which have traditionally occupied the second and third positions, respectively.
However, in the first six months of this year, the landscape shifted with a new sector gaining prominence: deeptechs claimed second place among the most acquired segments for the first time, reflecting the growing interest in disruptive innovations and advanced technological solutions.
