Over the past 5 years, Fintech has largely led acquisitions, maintaining a growth trajectory until reaching a peak of 41 acquisitions in the second half of 2021. Despite a slight decline in the following years, the sector continues to rise, with 21 acquisitions recorded in the first half of the year.
Another highlight is the Martech sector, which saw strong growth in 2021, stabilizing in 2023 and 2024. Retailtech, which showed growth between 2021 and 2022, saw a slight slowdown in 2023, but regained momentum in 2024.
From 2021 onwards, there was a significant increase in acquisitions of HRtech and Healthtech startups, driven by the digitalization and transformation in these sectors.
The Deeptech and Edtech sectors also gained relevance, with significant increases in 2023, when Deeptech reached 13 acquisitions and Edtech registered 10, demonstrating the growing interest in cutting-edge technology and digital education.
