Recently, the chip and semiconductor manufacturer NVIDIA surpassed Microsoft and Apple, becoming the most valuable publicly listed company in the world.
NVIDIA's positive stock trend has been ongoing since last year, driven by the growing advancement of generative artificial intelligence worldwide.
Globally, only seven companies surpassed the trillion-dollar market value mark in 2024. This Top 7 is dominated by US technology companies, with the exception of Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP),a government-controlled oil explorer in Saudi Arabia.
For the second half of the year, there are some candidates that may join the trillion-dollar club, including TSMC (US$ 932 billion), Berkshire Hathaway (US$ 881 billion), Eli Lilly and Company (US$ 847 billion) and Broadcom (US$ 839 billion). Most of these stocks have risen significantly in 2024 so far, with TSMC up 77% since the beginning of the year, Eli Lilly up 51%, and Broadcom up 66%.
